Gluten Free Penne Bake

San Remo Gluten Free Penne 8.8oz

2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 large onion, chopped finely
Tomato Pasta Sauce of choice
Salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste
¼ cup grated sharp cheese
¼ cup grated Mozzarella cheese

  1. Pre heat oven to 356°F.
  2. Cook the pasta as per the packet instructions to al dente. Make sure the pasta is not over cooked.
  3. Once the pasta is done, drain and rinse under cold water to stop any further cooking. Add a tbsp of oil and mix well. Set aside.
  4. Combine the two cheeses in a bowl. Over a medium heat add remaining oil to a skillet or fry pan. Sauté the onions until golden brown, about 5-6 minutes.
  5. Add the sauce and cook for about 3 minutes, stirring. Add the cooked pasta and season with salt and pepper to taste and mix gently.
  6. Transfer the pasta to an oven proof baking dish and top with grated cheese. Bake for 10 minutes or until cheese is fully melted.
  7. Serve hot in warm bowls
